Moving On

  • Jun 12, 2008
  • Post a comment

I think I'm mostly over Bob's death. It's still sad when I think about it, but I'm beginning to truly move on. We've already started working out and eating better! Not cause we're scared of getting sick or fat or whatever, but just because we want to enjoy the bodies and the lives that mother nature gave us. So far it's going pretty well. I've already lost some inches off the belly fat, and damn does it feel good! yeah! Brandi is lookin fine as well, damn fine. Am I being callous and cold by focusing on other stuff than Bob's death? No, I don't htink so. And Bob wouldn't have wanted me to get bogged down by all this mess. So I'm just gonna go my sweet little way and post my links like I always have, such as the Secrets of Lady Fatima. Funny, right? I just like to mix it up a bit from my usual links on people search engines. Of course, I'm still gonna give you the info on person search and stuff. Okay, I'm out. Later!

Finding the Light

Dealing with Bob's death has been tough. I'm not gonna lie. But I think Brandy and I have gotten something positive out of all this. Not that his death was a good thing... no, never that. It's just that I've tried to forge this terrible tragedy into something positive, and I think I've mostly succeeded. In the midst of the sadness and health worries, though, I sense a glimmer of light. The one thing that's comforted me is the fact that Bob lived such a full life, in every sense of the word. I realize that to honor his life, and in some way make his death not a vain one, I have to seize life and live it as fully as possible. So I'm going to start doing that, and bring Brandy along for the ride, if she's up for it. Which I think she is. And of course, you guys will get to read all about it on this blog! Of course, I'll still keep you guys updated with all the people search news I come across. Like this people search blog... pretty awesome stuff, huh? Or you could learn how to run a background check. I will also always come with the hilarity: Coolio Spin-Offs.

Finding Meaning in Bob's Death

Life has resumed as normal, for the most part, since Bob's passing. Every time I pass his house, I get a little choked up and nostalgic, but that's normal. Brandy and I had gotten really attached to the old coot and his antics. I'm definitely gonna miss the annual Christmas display battles, as well as his tall tales of the "old days." But this isn't about Bob. It's moreso about what Bob has come to represent to both me and Brandy. The importance of family and friends and loved ones is what I'm talking about. In the last few days, I remember Brandy and I started to realize just how grateful Bob was for our presence at his side, because he had no one else. He had us, though, and that was enough. Sometimes, just being there for someone is enough. I would even go so far as to say that being there for someone is all that matters in this world. Where am I going with this? I just want to let you readers know that it's never too late to start reconnecting with people you may have lost touch with. Of course, sooner is better than later, because you may miss the chance if you wait too long. Person search doesn't just let you find old flames or classmates or whatever...it can actually help bring meaning to your life by reconnecting you with loved ones. And so I implore you, readers, to search people and to find loved ones that you may be missing. And more often than not, they're missing you too. Okay, that's the end of my little sermon. Sorry, but it just had to be said. I do have something funny for you, though: To The No Cuss Club and Its Founder. Laughing like I do has showed me how to deal with stress.

Finding Closure

Bob Lamonte passed away last week. It was a quiet affair, and he went very peacefully. Brandy and I managed to hold it together in the last few hours. We held his hands and told funny stories about our relatives. He still called me Burt but that just made me smile and remember my grandfather. Bob told me that even though they fought a bunch, there was love between the two families. Well, maybe not love but at least respect. Apparently, one time Bob got caught stealing one of my grandma's famous blackberry pies cooling on her windowsill. I didn't even know that kinda stuff really happened! So anyway, my grandfather drives up after a long day at work to see his arch enemy sneaking away from his house carrying a piping hot pie. You better believe fists were thrown that day. But the real tragedy? The pie ends up face down on the driveway. At least Queenie, their old standard poodle, ate well that day. That was the last story Bob told us. He died with a chuckle in his throat and a winsome smile on his face. Is there any better way to go? I hope you guys will excuse me, cause I'm just not so into people search at the moment. I'll get back to it, though, honest. But here's a little advice: if you want to find someone find them! Finding people is actually pretty easy. Oh well. I've been trying to laugh a little: Rant Farm - To The Leap Year.

Bob's Back, Finding a Caregiver

Bob got out of the hospital last week. The second stroke kept him in longer than we had previously supposed. It was far more severe than the one I wrote about last time and has left him basically enfeebled. Bob doesn't have any real family, so me and Brandy have been taking care of him. It's crazy how close death (or near death) can bring people together, even former nemesises (nemeses? nemesi?). I feed Bob, I even change his diapers, I talk to him. He doesn't really remember me well, keeps calling me Burt. Burt was my grandfather. They once fist-fought out in the street on Christmas Eve. At least he hasn't swung on me yet! Sad thing is, I don't think he can even lift his arms to do it. One thing is for sure, Bob needs me and Brandy, and I'm able to give him the care and attention I feel I failed to do for my grandparents. Our jobs have been really cool about letting us off to take care of Bob, but I'm gonna have to go back to normal time soon. We've been looking around for caregivers and checking up on them with background check. The cool thing is that background checks online aren't just good for checking up on people. They can also be a great basic people finder.

Boy, this blog has been a fairly sobering affair lately, huh? Here's a cool link to change it up a little bit. Need a great realtor? How about finding a real realtor? Well, wish me luck in this crazy journey called real life.

Trying to Find the Words

Bob's in the hospital. My old nemesis, Bob Lamonte, had a mild stroke and is laid up in a hospital bed. Brandy and I had been getting real close to him. He was starting to feel sorta like a grandfather to both of us. And now I don't really know what to say. I'm searching for words to express my emotions, but I can't really do it. Why has this struck so close to home? I grew up thinking of Bob Lamonte as an enemy. I thought my grandma hated his guts, but it turns out that they shared a mutual respect. I guess by becoming closer to Bob, I've become closer to my grandma in her wake. Andnow that Bob might be slipping away, I worry that that final connection to her will be severed. Hmm. Sorry to be a downer. I know most of you read this for my people search links, so here's one that'll help you find a person. Anyway, I've been trying to keep my mind of this Bob thing. Been reading up on Hulu, check it out. See you guys later.

People Search...bringing people together

Hey everyone! Reading the last post, I realize I really shouldn't attempt to blog after one of Brandy's and mine happy hours -- actual Reindeer in the yard! My grandmother would have killed me; I inherited this house from her (never would have been able to afford it otherwise, certainly not at this age at any rate). I have to admit it's a lot less lonely having Brandy here, even if we don't always agree about everything. For example, I had to finally put my foot down and tell her that we can't have happy hour every night. Instead on Tuesdays and Thursday we have some people over. I've even learned to make these little lettuce wrap thingies which everyone just eats up! But thanks to that article, and a little creativity on Brandy's part, our house is the best looking on the block. Bob even came over to tell me so. He's my grandma's age and they always had a rivalry over their yards. He said I was doing my grandma proud, and I nearly teared up. Well, we got to talking and it turns out he's never heard about how to find people on the internet. I invited him in and showed him some of my favorite sites, and we even found a new person search one that we both liked. I'm helping track down his old friends, and it's really sad how many of them have already passed on. I had this great idea that we should still contact their kids and grandkids so that he can tell them stories about their grandparents. I think I may have even convinced him to start a blog of his own! We'll see how that goes....he's a lot nicer than I thought he was when I was a kid. Brandy says she reminds him of her grandpa. We're having him and a couple other neighbors over for a brunch party this weekend. Should be lots of fun, but I still have tons to do before then, so back out into the crowded stores I go....

Finding People and reindeers

So I did it, exactly what I said I was not going to do. I let Brandy, her cat, her clothes, and all all her shoes move in with me, and surprisingly it's been working out really well. I have to say it's so great having her here, and she makes a mean quesadilla, and mixes a bad ass drink! You see we have cocktails and appetizers everyday at 5pm. Brandy just whips stuff up, like tater skins and hot wings. Having her here is better than going to the local Chilli's for drinks.
And she's the best little helper when it comes to finding people. We people search all night sometimes, and she is right there with me finding people on her laptop. Man, laptops are so cool! We people search double time, and find all kinds of cool people finding sites. We found these last night Find Person, okay Brandy found them...she's getting better at this than I am! Locate a Person, but I found this one about finding a holiday decorator, I really want to compete with my neighbor Bob Lamonte's christmas lights. This year my house will be the brightest and most talked about! I am thinking about getting reindeer, yes real ones. Make my front yard like a petting zoo, Bob will not be able to top that! This site was real helpful Finding a Holiday Decorator
Well off to find some reindeer!!!!

Turkey sammies, finding people and loving life.

Hello everyone!  I can't stay long because my whole family is in town.  I'm mostly updating right now so they can see how it's done!  I was up late all night last night with my cousin Janet eating turkey sammies and trying to find someone she went to high school with.  She didn't even know person search existed before yesterday!  Can you believe it?  We've been also visiting all the sites, blogs, etc. I am so fond of.  I really think Janet is getting into it (she is sitting next to me eating some pumpkin pie and nodding as I'm typing this!).  She's going to try to help me finally finish our Family Tree.  I have been finding great articles about it online (like this one:  PremiumHowToGuides.com - How To Build Your Family Tree), but it's just a LOT of work to do by yourself.  Happily, I'm not alone anymore!

People Search Fiend

You're going to like this story:  I was just going though my address book last night to get ready for holiday cards, and realized I really needed to update it (really really really badly)!  I was thinking about the best way to go about this this morning while taking a shower, and it hit me!  People search them!  You don't just have to look up people that you haven't seen in a long time!  You can look up the addresses and phone numbers of people you already know, but want to make sure you have the most updated info for.  Good idea, huh?  So... this is where it gets really good though:  I decided to take an hour break at work to see how much I could get done, and guess what?  I got it all done!!  There's no way I would have gotten it all done that fast if I had called everyone individually.  So... yeah.  I'm excited about it!  You should all try it too.  It's a great way to make sure your address book is in tip top shape before you start paying for postage and cards.  Also, you should check out these sites:
Search Engines Are Awesome
Find People (With The Help Of People Other Than Me)
PremiumHowToGuides.com (this is about how to stop junk mail, which I realize has nothing to do with people search, but it's still a good thing to know)

Thanks for visiting!
